After a two-day state visit, the Spanish and Dutch royal families finally visited the street art museum STRAAT on the NDSM wharf. Here they opened the exhibition DUO: Beyond Two Visions together. The exhibition is a collaboration between five Dutch and Spanish artists. Amalia was also present. AT5 took a look at the royal visit and spoke to curator of STRAAT, David Roos.
The DUO exhibition shows ten new murals, each measuring 5 by 3.5 meters. The artists worked rapidly on five different cultural themes. Each team consists of an artist from both countries. It concerns the themes of artistic heritage, historical developments, architectural movements, vision of the future and natural landscapes. With the exhibition, the STRAAT Museum celebrates the friendship between both countries, but also the bond in street art. “Spain and the Netherlands, just like in football, are both participating very well,” said David.
