This contest invites photographers and outdoor enthusiasts to capture and share the essence of our planet through their GoPro lenses at GoPro Awards, exploring all types of landscapes during this month.
The alliance with The Ocean Cleanup, focused since 2013 on creating solutions to eradicate plastic from the seas, highlights GoPro’s commitment to sustainability. Five winners will get a HERO12 Black and a donation will be made for them to combat ocean plastic. This is intended to promote a global effort to clean the oceans, which make up 71% of our planet.
This challenge is open to both those who want to go out and capture incredible shots of our planet and those who want to capture their favorite memories captured with GoPro in nature. REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Astronomers have long believed in ice giants Uranus and Neptune rich in frozen water. However, a new study suggests that they may also have tons of methane ice.
Reported by Space, Wednesday (17/4/2024), these findings could help solve the puzzle of how these ice worlds were formed.
Much about Uranus and Neptune is still unknown. These two giant ice worlds have only had one spacecraft visitor, Voyager 2, which flew by in the 1980s.
As a result, scientists only have a vague idea of the compositions of the two ice giants. For example, that ice contains large amounts of oxygen, carbon and hydrogen.
To learn more about the building blocks of Uranus and Neptune, astronomers have designed models that match the physical properties measured by Voyager 2 and Earth-based telescopes. Many models assume that the planets have thin envelopes of hydrogen and helium; a base layer of superionic water and compressed ammonia; and a rocky core in the center. (It is this water that earns them the label “ice giants.”) Some estimates suggest that Uranus and Neptune may each have 50,000 times as much water as Earth’s oceans.
