Google AI & Higher Education: New Partnerships

Google is recruiting a senior partnerships manager to help shape its artificial intelligence work across higher education, according to a recent LinkedIn post by Alisa Sommer O’Hara, who leads Global EdTech Business Partnerships and Developer Relations at the company.

The new Strategic Partner Development Principal Lead will focus on building partnerships that drive the use of Gemini for Education, Google’s family of AI models designed to transform teaching, learning, and research. The position forms part of Google’s Learning and Education team, which develops tools and strategies to scale AI responsibly across academic environments.

O’Hara wrote on LinkedIn: “I am hiring a senior Partnerships Manager to lead our work across Google Learning & Education on AI in Higher Education. If you know an amazing partnerships manager or management consultant who has experience in education and wants to be at the tip of the spear of our work in the space, please send them my way.”

The role will establish partnerships with three to five academic institutions per region to encourage the adoption of Gemini for teaching, learning, and research. Responsibilities include negotiating agreements for AI products and services, aligning partnership and sales strategies across Gemini for Education and Google Cloud, and acting as an advocate for Gemini in the global academic community.

The position can be based in New York, Mountain View, San Francisco, or Los Angeles. The selected candidate will also support collaboration with higher education institutions, NGOs, and EdTech companies, ensuring Gemini for Education aligns with university goals and responsible AI practices.
