BANGKOK (Reuters) – Thailand’s interest rate levels are appropriate for the current situation and are neutral, the World Bank said on Wednesday at an event in Bangkok.

The Southeast Asian country faces temporary disinflation, but no deflation, World Bank Senior Economist for Thailand Kiatipong Ariyapruchya told reporters, adding it was normal for the central bank to have different views from the government.

His comments come as Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has for months repeatedly urged the Bank of Thailand (BOT) to cut interest rates by 25 basis points, arguing the economy was in a ‘crisis’ – a characterisation that the central bank rejects.

Understanding Net Worth: A Metric For Financial Health…

The importance of calculating net worth is becoming increasingly evident as the cost of living continues to rise at a steady pace. While many individuals believe that having a good salary and a comfortable lifestyle is enough to secure their financial future, the truth is that true wealth is determined by one’s net worth.

According to a recent report published by the Federal Reserve’s Survey of Consumer Finances, the median net worth of American households has increased by 37% to approximately $192,900. This growth represents the largest increase in three years and has been attributed to positive savings behaviors and improving market conditions.
