2024-03-06 11:07:00
New Delhi: Tata Motors will be divided into two separate companies. Its board has approved dividing the company’s business into two separate listed companies. One of these will be for commercial vehicles (CV). Whereas, the other is for Passenger Vehicle (PV) business. This strategic move aims to leverage synergy and boost growth. All shareholders will maintain equal shareholding in both the entities. There will be no impact on customers and employees from this demerger.
According to the company, the split is in line with the separation of PV and EV businesses in 2022. This empowers it to pursue its growth strategies with accountability. The commercial vehicle business and its related investments will be merged into one entity. While the second unit will include passenger vehicle business, which will include PV, Electric Vehicle, Jaguar, Land Rover and related investments.
Demerger expected to be completed within 12-15 months
The split is subject to the approval of the Tata Motors board, shareholders, creditors and regulators. This will be implemented through NCLT scheme. The entire process is expected to be completed within 12-15 months. Among the sectors put under the microscope during the Agricultural Show held last week in Paris, that of sheep. If sheep meat production is increasing around the world, this trend covers different realities. Declining in Europe and Oceania, it is booming in Africa: +19% for the continent.
In Ivory Coast, it is sometimes difficult to find mutton on the stalls. “ We cannot cover our needs in terms of animal proteins in terms of sheep, notes Dr Christian Alla, veterinarian and project coordinator at the Ministry of Animal and Fisheries Resources. Therefore, the ministry has established several structuring projects with the aim of improving this coverage of the need for sheep meat. »
Today, to cover its needs, Côte d’Ivoire imports sheep from Burkina Faso or Mali. « The first challenge is that of genetic improvement, continues Dr. Christian Alla. We have animal breeds that are not performing well enough. That is to say that carcass production is not sufficient, there is not enough meat. In Ivory Coast, we have breeds called Djallonke breeds, which are adapted to our climate. We therefore want to bring in high-performance breeds that we will cross with our local breeds so as to have high-performance sheep that are resistant to the climate that we have in Côte d’Ivoire.

For the moment, the Malagasy authorities have not yet decided whether or not to apply the automatic system for setting fuel prices at the pump. One of the recommendations of the International Monetary Fund, in the negotiations to unlock one of the last two tranches of the Extended Credit Facility. The fear of an inflationary drift still hangs over the household basket. Despite the Central Bank’s forecasts of a deceleration below 10% in the inflation rate year-on-year.

Cobots And Artificial Intelligence Are The New Frontiers…
The uncertainty linked to the implementation of 5.0 incentives, still undefined at the time of the survey, has an effect on prospective requests: in fact, only 31% declare they want to access the measure, two out of ten companies exclude it but almost half of the sample is placed in the “don’t know” box. A share that will almost certainly reduce significantly in the short term, when the implementing decrees become operational and companies will be able to start accessing these measures, capable of producing tax discounts of up to 45% of the investment made.
However, past investments have started companies along a well-defined digital path (67% of the sample thinks so), with a focus that places cybersecurity first, by far the first area of investment already introduced in 2023, with 28% of the responses. Followed by cloud computing, the internet of things, and surprisingly collaborative robotics, which has already entered the investment plans of 10% of companies, with a hypothesis of doubling during 2024.
