We recently reported that Gmail will allow you to change your email address. This option has just been introduced, although it is being made available gradually, so not all users can use it.
Google now allows you to change your @gmail address. What is it about? For example having an address [email protected] we can change it to [email protected]if one is free of course. Despite this change, the existing mailbox and all services connected to it will continue to function as before.
When changing, the old Gmail address will be saved as an additional one. This means that if someone sends a message to it, it will still reach us. There will be two addresses operating at the same time, i.e. in our case, Jansmith and J.smith.
However, this change comes with some limitations. First of all, we will not be able to delete or create a new e-mail address for 12 months. Moreover, ultimately we will be able to have a maximum of 4 addresses (1 old and 3 new). Apart from that, everything will work as before.
