Girls Basketball Rankings: NYS Class C Updates

Syracuse, N.Y. — The NYSSWA released a new edition of its girls basketball state rankings on Wednesday, and there’s a new Class C team on top for the first time this season.

After weeks of Hamilton edging undefeated Frankfort-Schuyler to be the highest-ranked Section III team in the state rankings, the Maroon Knights defeated the Emerald Knights, 49-40, on Jan. 22 to one-up their rivals and earn the top spot in Class C among Section III squads.

Elsewhere in the rankings, Oswego entered the fray in Class AA while Cicero-North Syracuse (AAA) and Fulton (AA) dropped to honorable mention status.

The NYSSWA rankings are based on games played through Jan. 25.
