Gimcheon Sangmu Football Club is deepening its commitment to the local community by continuing its highly successful children’s sports program. Building on the positive reception from last year, the club has launched its first children’s sports class of the year, demonstrating a proactive approach to social duty and community engagement.
A Day of fun and Fitness for Young Children
On April 10th,young children from a local daycare center participated in a specially designed sports class held at the Gimcheon-sil badminton court. Twelve excited children where guided by students from the Department of sports and Physical Education at Gimcheon University, ensuring a safe and engaging environment.This hands-on approach provides valuable practical experience for the university students while benefiting the children.

Strategic Partnerships for Community Impact
The continuation of this program is underpinned by a memorandum of understanding (MOU) established last year between Gimcheon Sangmu,the Kimcheon Facilities Management Corporation,and Gimcheon University. These strategic partnerships are crucial for the program’s success, leveraging the resources and expertise of each organization to maximize its impact on the community. Such collaborations are increasingly common, with sports teams worldwide recognizing the importance of community involvement. For example, a recent study by the sport and Development organization highlights the positive impact of sports-based community programs on children’s physical and mental well-being.
Lee Jae-ha,CEO of Kim Cheon Sang-mu,emphasized the club’s dedication to giving back to the community. The children’s sports class was the most popular program of social contribution activities conducted by Kim Cheon Sang last year. This year, we decided to continue with the interests and support of the community.
Beyond the children’s sports class,Gimcheon Sangmu plans to further engage with Gimcheon citizens through initiatives like the Osu-woong ~
soccer class,demonstrating a broad commitment to promoting sports and healthy lifestyles within the region.
