Germany & US Relations: A Call for Closer Ties

Berlin. “It’s no fun anymore!” grumbles a grandma. I’m currently standing in Edeka, buying raspberries for 2.99 euros and a bouquet of tulips. They are standing at the trash cans at the exit, between stairs with flower bulbs and Lindt Easter bunnies, two pensioners having a morning chat. The ladies complain about the noise, the dirt and the tram that isn’t running again. “The sidewalk used to be folded up here at 8 p.m. and it was fine,” says one of the women. “That was nice.”
