MACON COUNTY, Ala. (WSFA) – A Georgia woman died after a crash Wednesday afternoon in Macon County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
The crash happened about 10 miles east of Tuskegee on U.S. Highway 80 just before 1 p.m.
Sarah Holiday, 59, of Warm Springs, Georgia, died when her SUV collided head-on with a pickup truck. Authorities say Holiday was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck was also injured and taken by helicopter to a hospital in Columbus, Georgia, for treatment, ALEA says.
Troopers are investigating the cause of the crash.
