George Clooney: 2024 Chaplin Award Winner

“From award-winning performances to outstanding production work and critically acclaimed direction, George brings a distinctive blend of intelligence, craftsmanship and social consciousness to everything he does,” said FLC director Daniel Battsek in a statement. “His contributions continue to inspire audiences and artists around the world.”

The 64-year-old Clooney, known for the Ocean’s trilogy and films such as Up in the Air and Michael Clayton, has won two Oscars and several Golden Globes and SAG Awards in his long career. In addition to his work in Hollywood, Clooney is also committed to humanitarian causes, such as human rights in Sudan.

The 51st edition of the Chaplin Award ceremony will take place on Monday, April 27 in New York. Previously, actors Viola Davis, Meryl Streep and Robert Redford, and directors Spike Lee, Pedro Almodóvar and Martin Scorsese, among others, received the prize.
