The Geneva saga of Sablière du Cannelet is making a new foray into the legal field. Last week, the Land Department (DT) filed a criminal complaint with the Public Prosecutor’s Office against the construction waste recycling company and its administrator, who had long operated on agricultural land without authorization. The premises should have been restored by December 15, “final deadline”.
“It is clear that the company objectively did not do what was asked of it in the administrative decision and the fact that things have nevertheless progressed does not remove the offense,” argues Pauline de Salis, spokesperson for the DT. La Sablière could also be inflicted with “a significant administrative fine for non-compliance with deadlines”.
