Gemini Nano & New Google TV Apps: Banana & Veo

The debut of Gemini on Google TV occurred in mid-November 2025 with the update for the Google TV Streamer device. The Mountain View company announced at CES 2026 of Las Vegas the arrival of new advanced features, including those that take advantage of templates Nano Banana and I See. They will initially be available on some TCL smart TVs.

Gemini it has taken the place of Google Assistant on many devices. It offers the same functionality as the “old” assistant, to which more advanced capabilities are added, including the ability to interact with the user through conversations in more natural language. Integration into Google TV it’s probably the best way to leverage AI.

Gemini obviously allows you to speed up the search for content on the TV, avoiding the use of the remote control. It is not necessary to indicate the exact title of a film or TV series, as the assistant can find the contents even with a generic request. It can also generate plot summaries.

Four new features were announced at CES 2026 in Las Vegas. The first allows you to explore various topics through an interface with images and videos. The “Insights” sections offer narrated, interactive and simplified overviews for the whole family.

Users can use Gemini to search for specific people or moments in the library Google Photoapply artistic styles with Photos Remix, or transform memories into immersive, cinematic slideshows. Images and videos can be created or edited with Nano Banana and I See.

The last feature is certainly the most useful. Using voice commands, such as “the screen is too dark” or “I can’t hear the dialogues“, Gemini will change brightness and sound without interrupting the viewing. The user no longer has to waste time searching for the relevant settings in the various menus.

The new features will be available on some TCL TVs. In the coming months they will arrive on other devices with at least Android TV OS 14, in other countries and in other languages.
