An Argentine court set the start of the new trial on the death of Diego Maradona for March 17, 2026, after the embarrassing suspension of the first trial in May of this year. The first trial in San Isidro, in the north of Buenos Aires, was annulled after one of the judges was removed from the case for participating in an unauthorized documentary of the trial itself. The scandal concluded with the resignation of the other two magistrates who made up the court.
