Gaza War: Hostage Risk & Qatar’s Response

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said that the Israeli army has completed its preparations to start the second phase of the “Gideon 2 vehicles” operation, through which it seeks to completely control Gaza City.

The authority pointed out that although the operation will face wide global condemnation, high -level security and political figures confirmed that there is no escape from expanding the scope of fighting in light of the stalemate in the path of negotiations, the release of the hostages, after the attempt to assassinate Hamas leaders carried out by Israel in Doha.

For its part, the Israeli Channel 12 quoted the Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir a message he sent to the political leadership in a closed room during a security meeting on Sunday evening, in which he said: “We are committed to the goals of the war as defined by the government, but Hamas will not defeat militarily and politically even after the process of controlling Gaza City.”

Regarding the evacuation orders of the residents of Gaza City, the Israeli channel quoted the army that it is estimated that most of the population will agree to leave at the last minute, noting that the Israeli forces will gradually enter the city but with great strength, while Prime Minister Netanyahu stressed during the meeting: “I want to see this process begin within the agreed time frame.”
