The official told “Sky News Arabia” that “there are many details that must be worked on, but the priority is currently the release of the hostages because it will give a boost to move forward in the rest of the (US President Donald) Trump’s plan.”

The official spoke to coincide with the start of an important tour of the Egyptian city of Sharm El -Sheikh, between the delegations of Israel and Hamas, it is hoped that it will lead to end the Gaza war that has been going on for two years.

He added that “Trump wants to implement the first stage of negotiations (the release of the hostages) as soon as possible, and this stage does not take a long time.”

“After the release of the hostages are the stages that will be more difficult and more complex,” the official said.

Regarding the guarantees that Hamas wants regarding the failure of Israel to dismiss its obligations in the event of the release of the hostages and return to military operations, the official said that “there is a strong desire from the Trump administration and Trump personally, to make this plan a success.”

He continued: “All countries supporting his efforts will make everything necessary for the success of these endeavors, which begin to stop the war and achieve peace in the Middle East.”

Sharm El Sheikh talks come after Hamas agreed to release all hostages under the Trump plan, in an effort to put an end to the war in the devastating sector.

The US President increased the pressure on the negotiators a week after putting his plan.

The American plan consisting of 20 items announced on September 29, stipulating the ceasefire and release within 72 hours of all the hostages, the gradual withdrawal of the Israeli army from the Gaza Strip, and the removal of Hamas.

Trump warned Hamas that he “will not be negligent with any delay” in applying the plan.

The resumption of negotiations comes after months of unimportant efforts by the United States, Qatar and Egypt that takes mediation between the two parties.

Despite Trump’s calls for an “immediate bombing” stop, the Israeli army continued its strikes on Gaza in the past few days.

The Israeli Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, confirmed on Sunday that the army conducted a “change” in its operations that did not reach the end of the ceasefire, and vowed to “return to fight” if the discussions on the hostages fail.
