by Archynetys News Desk

Just before 02 o’clock the night before Saturday, the police received several calls about bangs on Söder in Gävle. On site, six people with various injuries were found in the lower body. All were taken to hospital by ambulance.

“Four are left in hospital and two have had to go home,” said Deputy Local Police Area Manager Josefine Rhodin at a press conference during Saturday afternoon.

The injured are young adults, one or more people are under 18. None of them have life -threatening injuries according to police. Everyone is a resident of Gävle or in neighboring municipalities.

Unclear events

During the press conference, the police were very sorry for the course of events and referred regularly to preliminary investigation confidentiality.

– The motif picture I do not want to say anything about, but we have a relatively good picture of what has happened, says Karin Wessén.

The police also did not want to comment on whether the suspect is known by the police or if there are links between the victims or victims and perpetrators. Nor if they suspect that the act is linked to gang crime.

But one thing they could see.

– There is currently nothing to indicate that the incident is a terrorist crime, says Karin Wessén.

13-year-old boy suspect

A preliminary investigation into attempted murder and serious weapons crime has been initiated. A 13-year-old boy, a resident of Gävleborg, who is suspected of the act was arrested in close proximity to the crime scene. He was interrogated on Saturday.

It is unclear if he will continue to be deprived of liberty.

– It is the social service that takes over responsibility there, says Karin Wessén.

The police do not want to comment on whether there are more suspects but urge anyone who was near the incident, or have information, to hear from them.

The police have been reinforced from the entire region and on Saturday a technical investigation has been carried out, but the barriers are claimed.

– We are on site for security creation and to create questions from the public, says Josefine Rhodin.
