BeritaNasional.com – Garmin Indonesia introduces the Approach G82, a premium handheld golf GPS device designed to take the guesswork out of distance on the course.

Featuring the largest 5-inch touchscreen in Garmin’s handheld line and the latest putting analysis metrics, this device offers wide visibility and high accuracy for every shot.

“We are very pleased to introduce the Approach G82, a golf handheld with our largest screen making it easier to see your metrics and the contours of the course. This is the best warm-up tool that also functions as an intuitive virtual caddy on the course. Through its latest putting metrics, this device allows players to hone all aspects of their game,” said Chandrawidhi Desideriani, Marcomm Senior Manager Garmin Indonesia, quoted in his statement, Tuesday (31/3/2026).

The Approach G82 is equipped with an internal radar that is capable of recording important data such as club speed, ball speed, smash factor, swing tempo, and estimated distance.

Whether practicing on the driving range or playing on the course, users get precision data that is usually only available on expensive simulators.

The putting analysis feature helps players evaluate the tempo and consistency of shots on the green. Through the sharp 5 inch screen, game patterns can be read quickly so that technical adjustments can be made to reduce the number of strokes.

“Precision is at the heart of the game of golf, and that is the foundation of the Approach G82. By combining our largest handheld display with radar technology capable of analyzing down to the details of putting, we give Indonesian golfers the confidence to make decisions based on data, not just instinct,” added Chandrawidhi.

The wide screen makes it easy to read information, including via Big Numbers Mode so it remains visible in sunlight. The enhanced Virtual Caddie also provides club recommendations taking into account wind, elevation and playing history.

The device connects to the Garmin Golf ecosystem, including compatibility with the Approach CT10 club tracker and integration with a laser range finder.

Through the Garmin Golf application and Garmin Golf Membership service, users can also access the Home Tee Hero virtual simulator on more than 43,000 courses as well as the Green Contour feature to read green contours more accurately.
