TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Samsung is reportedly preparing a surprise for the Galaxy S26 line which is expected to launch in January next year. As quoted from GSM Arenaone of the big changes is in the main camera sector, especially for the base or basic model of the Galaxy S26.
According to reports from GalaxyClubquoted from Sam MobileGalaxy S26 will use a new camera sensor for its main lens. Although the resolution remains 50 MP like the previous generation, the Isocell GN3 sensor that has been used since the Galaxy S23 and is still used on the Galaxy S25, will be replaced.
This new sensor is said to still originate from the Isocell GN family, but with different technical characteristics and is likely to be superior, although the technical details have not been revealed.
The use of this new sensor has become a significant step considering that Samsung has not increased much over the last few years camera hardware for the basic and plus models in the Galaxy S series. This step marks the possibility of the start of a new era of camera innovation, at least for the basic model of the Galaxy S26.
There is no certainty whether this new sensor will also be used on the Galaxy S26 Plus, if the model is still launched. Rumors of the question of stopping the variant plus re -emerged, even mentioned that the Galaxy S26 Edge could have replaced the position of S26 Plus next year. If that happens, there is a possibility that this new sensor is only present on the Galaxy S26 regular version.
Samsung has not officially announced the new sensor or the overall Galaxy S26 line. However, official announcements are expected to be made in early 2026, and more information is likely to be revealed in the coming months.
