Reliance Jio, a leading mobile network carrier in India, has officially announced the nationwide rollout of VoNR/Vo5G, according to Sma Sitick. This upgrade allows Samsung smartphone users on the Jio network to utilize the 5G network for voice calls,promising a superior experience.

Activating VoNR on Your Samsung Galaxy Phone

Enabling VoNR or Vo5G on compatible samsung smartphones is a straightforward process.

1. Navigate to Settings » Connections » Mobile networks.
2. Locate and activate the VoNR (Voice over 5G) feature.

Once activated, a Vo5G icon should appear in the status bar, confirming that the feature is active and in use, provided your network carrier supports it.

With that, Samsung smartphone users on the Jio network can use the feature to experience improved network, call quality, and battery life.

Many of Samsung’s recent smartphone releases across the Galaxy Z, Galaxy S, galaxy A, Galaxy M, and Galaxy F series are equipped with VoNR or Vo5G capabilities.This includes models like the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy A56, Galaxy A36, Galaxy M56, Galaxy M36, Galaxy F56, and Galaxy F36.

It’s crucial to note that for the full benefits of VoNR or Vo5G to be realized-faster call setup times, enhanced call quality, and improved battery life-the person on the other end of the call must also be using a VoNR or Vo5G-enabled device and network. If not, the connection will revert to VoLTE or other available protocols.
