Due to the expected large number of Salzburg residents who want to start the new year on the Gaisberg, the city of Salzburg is activating the closure of the Gaisberg state road from the Zistel to cars from 8 p.m. The state bridge is also closed to traffic from 11 p.m.
In order to bring the revelers to the summit and back down again after midnight, the Gaisbergbus line 151 runs the route from Mirabellplatz to the Gaisbergspitze. The last descent is Thursday morning at 2:35 a.m., announced the Gaisberg coordinator and deputy mayor of the city of Salzburg, Florian Kreibich (ÖVP).
State bridge also closed
The State Bridge will also be closed from 11 p.m. for the city of Salzburg’s official fireworks display and celebrations in the old town.
