Gabby Logan said that a few hours before the broadcast of the historic World Cup final in rugby, she broke out into tears when she received sad news about her family.

The 50-year-old BBC presenter led the nation to the triumph of the ‘Roses’ in a game against Canada, which ended at 33-13 in the Twickenham Stadium on Saturday and secured the third title in the women’s Rugby World Cup.

But despite the festive atmosphere, Gabby suffers from the loss of her beloved pet – the dog Milo, who died at the age of 14.

An emotional day for the moderator

In an interview with the Magazine Hello! Gabby shared the emotions that she overwhelmed that day and told how she received support from her husband Kenny Logan, 53.

She confessed:

“When I found out that the older dog had to be put to sleep, I said to Kenny: ‘I can’t get through it alone.’

“We cannot gather the whole family, so I said: ‘We need gin and tonic and a few tears.'”

Milo, the loyal boxer, was part of the Logan family for over ten years and was very popular with both Kenny and her 20-year-old twins, Reuben and Lois.

Gabby also shared a moving contribution to social media about Milo in which she wrote:

“Our hearts are broken. Our big boy went. Milo, you were a real loner.”

Memory of Milo

She remembered his special habits, including as he loved, to be scratched under the chin, look at the children and never let the family miss the 8 a.m. or 5 a.m. – the times for regular walks and dinner.

Gabby also wrote:

“You have accepted other puppies in our home, supported us in your recent years and gave us 14 incredible years full of love.”

“We are grateful forever that you chose us.”

Changes in the life of the family

The Logan family lives in Buckinghamshire and now adapts to a new, quieter lifestyle, since Lois studies at the university and Reuben plays professional rugby for the Sale Sharks in Manchester.

Gabby recently said in an interview with the Daily Mail:

“Since Lois and Reuben are not at home either, we will really think about it this week. But there is also a lot of freedom that comes with this phase of life.”

Gabby Logan remains one of the best -known faces of the BBC in sports and is currently moderating the program Match of the Day together with Kelly Cates and Mark Chapman after Gary Lineker has left.

This situation illustrates how important relatives are in difficult times. The loss of a pet is always painful, and Gabby impresses with her ability to speak openly about her feelings. The Logan family continues to live, supports each other and adapts to the new realities without their loyal friend.
