Friuli Day: Celebrating Friuli Venezia Giulia

The 31st edition of Friuli Doc will be inaugurated at 5.30 pm on Thursday 11 September in addition to the authorities, the mayor Alberto Felice De Toni, the deputy Alessandro Venanzi and for the Region the Councilor Sergio Bini Bini Ee the President of the Region, Massimiliano Fedriga, there will be the Rhythmic Gymnastics Champion of the Asu, Tara Dragas, the goalkeeper of the Udinese, Daniele Padelli, the founder of the Pignolo association FVG, Ben Little (recent Nonino Prize) and the Serbian singer, but Goriziana by adoption, Tish.
New this year will be the presence in Piazza Primo Maggio as well as of the Sports Village – named after the beloved Friulian journalist Bruno Pizzul who passed away last March – of stands with a wide gastronomic offer: from the Adriatic fish to the Cjarsons and Frico, meat specialties and gluten -free products, vegetarians and vegans. Without forgetting the DJ sets dedicated to electronic music.
As for the locations, on the square of the Castle there will be the excellence of the hilly cuisine, in Piazza San Cristoforo the fish with fries and battered vegetables, in Piazza Duomo La Carnia, in Piazza XX Settembre the specialties (from the “Cais” of the Rojale to the mushrooms), in Piazza Venerio Ham, Frico and wild boar, in Piazza Patriarchate the Stiriani dishes, in Largo Hospital Il Tarvisian, in via Aquileia. Trieste fishermen, flavors of the Natisone valleys and the Friulian Red Red Pezzata. Tastings and conferences by DOC Colli Orientali and Ramandolo will be proposed in Piazza Matteotti while Coldiretti’s tastings will be in Corte Morpurgo, those of Confagricoltura at the Torso Garden. Without forgetting the Malga cheese auction in the Lionello Loggia (Sunday 14 at 16) and the craftsmen in via Mercatovecchio.
The children’s village expanded from Piazza Belloni and via Cavour to Piazza Venerio and the Oasis of the baby in via Rialto confirmed.
The great concerts will be held in Piazza Libertà: Friday 12 Giuliano Palma with his unmistakable voice, Saturday 13 Joan Thielem, Italian-Colombian singer revelation at the last Sanremo, Sunday 14 Gaia, winner of Amici 2020 and Protagnista in Sanremo.
On Saturday 13 September there will be the delivery of the Excellence Prize to Hattiva Lab, Cantina Riccaro, Arteni family, Kaleidoscienza, Asu and Loris De Filippi, while on Friday 12 September there will be an international event dedicated to twinning and European projects, with a tasting without borders that will offer the typical products of the guest cities.
