Indonesian Students Welcome French President Macron with Enthusiasm

Thousands of students lined the streets of Jakarta to greet President Emmanuel Macron, waving flags and expressing their excitement at his arrival.
The visit of the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, was met with a vibrant display of enthusiasm from Indonesian students. Thousands gathered at the National Monument on Wednesday morning, May 28th, to welcome him and his wife, Brigitte Macron.
Lining the streets, students waved both indonesian and French flags as the presidential motorcade passed. President Macron and Mrs. Brigitte Macron acknowledged the warm welcome, waving back to the students from their vehicle.
President Macron further expressed his thankfulness with several thumbs-up gestures in response to the students’ cheers.
“Welcome to Indonesia, Mr.President,” the students exclaimed.
Students from various schools across jakarta congregated at the National Monument, eager to witness the arrival of the foreign head of state. The event provided a memorable experience for many.
“The experience is fun and exciting.I get the possibility to meet with students from other schools,” said Rangga, a student from Jakarta’s state Vocational School 3.
The welcoming procession included 17 motorcyclists and 75 cavalry troops, adding to the spectacle. Beyond the diplomatic significance, President Macron’s visit instilled a sense of pride in the students.
Student Perspectives on the Presidential Visit
Students shared their thoughts on the significance of President macron’s visit and the welcoming ceremony.
“It’s realy cool. I’m happy to see the horses and the motorcycle parades. We really appreciate the welcoming procession for them,” said Putri.
“So, the French President can learn the way we welcome state guests. He can also learn that in Indonesia there are horses like those ones. The students shared the same enthusiasm, as they had the opportunity to show the French President that Indonesia is good,” said Raisya, also a student from State Vocational School 3 Jakarta.
Syifa and Putri, students from State Senior High School 30 Jakarta, viewed the welcome as a gesture of appreciation for a visiting leader, noting the meticulous preparations involved.
President Macron’s state visit served to strengthen the diplomatic ties between France and Indonesia,leaving a positive impression on the younger generation.
