Hectic weather is forecast for this Tuesday across the southwest and central Quebec with snow, rain and ice depending on the sector, risking complicating travel on the roads.
Precipitation will be concentrated mainly in the morning and next night in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, in the Ottawa Valley and the St. Lawrence River valley.
The risk of freezing rain will be omnipresent in the morning and next night in Outaouais, Montreal, the Laurentians, Lanaudière, and part of Montérégie.
A special weather statement (BMS) from Environment Canada is in effect for several areas, announcing up to 10 millimeters of icy conditions
“Freezing rain leaving a total quantity of 5 to 10 millimeters in two periods,” said the federal agency, qualifying the possibility of icy conditions this morning in Montreal.
“Freezing rain is also possible Tuesday morning, but unlikely, and there would be little or no impacts related to it,” the federal agency said in the BMS.
In Estrie, 15 to 25 millimeters of rain are expected by Wednesday morning, while in the Capitale-Nationale, the windy weather will be accompanied by a few snow showers.
For Wednesday, the sun will return to southwest Quebec, while the east of the province could receive up to 5 centimeters of snow.
