Freeze Frame & Teleprompter: New Edits Features

by Archynetys Economy Desk

With three new features you can create attention-grabbing Reels and engage in contemporary storytelling – even with personalized sound effect suggestions.

Meta‘s video editing app Edits is becoming a central option for content creation. Only launched around a year ago, Edits has become extremely relevant as a CapCut alternative, especially for the meta-cosmos and the Reels. This is mainly due to the constant feature updates. For example, Edits recently introduced automatic highlights for captions and also a feature to make Reels up to 100 times faster. Now there is another update presented by Instagram‘s official Creators Account. This gives creators, among other things, sound suggestions that match their content and a feature familiar from television that can save a lot of time.

These 3 Edits features are new: Better storytelling and matching sounds

One of Edits’ new options is initially only available for iOS users. This is the “Sound Effects for you” function. This offers a separate tab for personalized suggestions, called “For you”, that match the creator’s content. In the example video, a person is running to the S-Bahn, Edits then suggests a sound called “Running”, but also “Wind Blowing”, “Bus Horn” and “Sneaking”. The audios come from the meta library and can be used for the acoustic background of Reels.

Visually, Edits Creator now supports the Freeze Frame feature. As the name suggests, this allows individual frames to be frozen to highlight special moments in the video. It is also possible to point out special transitions that are part of storytelling. For example, creators could make a freeze frame at a specific point in the reel their identifying feature or use the option to create a suspense.

The storytelling optimized in this way can now be supported even better via voiceover. Because Edits provides a voiceover teleprompter. This allows creators to integrate their scripts directly into the editing app and run them as a text template on the screen while recording. This means they can record content, record the voiceover and complete the reel in just a few takes. This can save time and nerves.

Meta provides even more insights into how creators create high-quality Reels that can perform well on Instagram, as well as on Facebook and threads, in a dos and don’ts overview that we have prepared for you with explicit tips.
