FWC is an e-sports competition in the ‘Freef Universe’ where global players who have developed characters under equal conditions compete in PvP (player vs. player) and PvE (player vs. environment) methods after a certain period of time.
Ten teams consisting of players from various nationalities, including the United States, Canada, Germany, the Philippines, and Chile, advanced to this year’s Grand Finals held at Ayala Mall Manila Bay in the Philippines on the 18th. As a result of the match, Team Astral defeated Team Blackout with a set score of 3-1 and won the championship, continuing from last year. The winning team, Astral, was awarded $80,000 in prize money.
This year’s FWC, now in its third year, was held on the largest scale ever and attracted a lot of attention from global users. Preliminaries were held in over 10 global regions, including new regions such as Korea, South America, and Vietnam, and a pre-registration page dedicated to FWC was also operated where users from all over the world could participate. In particular, this FWC drew attention as three female participants were named as finalists for the first time in history.
In addition, about 3,000 fans visited the grand finals, which were held offline, and the cumulative number of viewers through online live streaming exceeded 30,000.

Lee Ho-dae, CEO of Wemade Connect, said, “FWC is a meaningful festival that connects ‘Freef Universe’ users around the world. We will continue to develop the vision of global e-sports that realizes the value of passion and cooperation in fair competition.”
Meanwhile, Flyff Universe is the rebirth of Korea’s first flight MMORPG ‘Flyff’, released in 2004, in a web-based cross-platform environment in 2022. It is consistently loved by users around the world thanks to its unique flight system, free economic structure, and cooperation-oriented guild content. To date, the cumulative number of subscribers (RU) is over 5 million and the number of daily active users (DAU) is around 80,000.
