Thammasat chalermprakiet Hospital in Pathum Thani Province is taking proactive steps to safeguard public health by offering free seasonal influenza vaccinations. A total of 1,500 doses will be administered over two days, May 27th adn 28th, 2025, with a daily capacity of 750 individuals. This initiative aims to protect vulnerable populations from teh perhaps severe complications of influenza.

According to recent data from the World Health Organization (WHO),seasonal influenza remains a significant public health concern,causing widespread illness and,in certain specific cases,serious complications leading to hospitalization and even death. Vaccination is a crucial preventative measure, notably for those at higher risk.

Who is Eligible for the Free vaccination?

The hospital is prioritizing individuals considered to be at higher risk of developing complications from influenza. The following groups are eligible to receive the free vaccination:

  • Children aged 6 months to 2 years: Young children are particularly vulnerable to severe influenza outcomes.
  • Individuals with chronic diseases: This includes those with diabetes, heart conditions, asthma, and othre long-term health issues. These conditions can be exacerbated by influenza.
  • People with neurological disorders: Individuals with brain disabilities are at increased risk.
  • Immunocompromised individuals: This includes those with HIV infection or other immune deficiencies.
  • Individuals with a BMI of 35 or higher, or weighing over 100 kg: Obesity is a known risk factor for severe influenza.
  • Seniors aged 65 years and older: The elderly are more susceptible to influenza complications.
  • Pregnant women (12-20 weeks gestation): Pregnant women are at higher risk, and vaccination can also protect their unborn child.

Vaccination Details: Dates, Times, and Location

The free influenza vaccinations will be administered on the following dates and times:

  • Dates: May 27th and 28th, 2025
  • Time: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
  • Queue cards will be distributed starting at 8:30 AM. Please note that if the daily capacity is reached before the scheduled closing time,queue card distribution will cease.
  • Location: Activity Hall, 1st Floor, MR Suwaphan Sanitwong Building, Thammasat Chalermprakiet Hospital.

Required Documents

To receive the vaccination, individuals must bring the following documents:

  • A valid form of identification (ID card).
  • For children aged six months or older, their vaccination record book.
  • Pregnant women should bring their antenatal care record book.
