Gwalior (Ankur Jain): There has been a new twist in the suicide case of lawyer Mrityunjay Singh Chauhan, hurt by his girlfriend’s betrayal, in Gwalior. Gola Ka Mandir police station has registered a case against Sub-Inspector Preeti Jadaun and constable Arafat Khan posted in Morena Police in this case after 22 days. Both have been accused of instigating the lawyer to commit suicide and mental torture. Police have registered a case against both of them and started investigation.
The crux of the matter is believed to be on the night of December 12, when lawyer Mrityunjay Singh Chauhan had reached the official quarter of his fiancee and SI Preeti Jadaun posted at Morena Civil Lines police station to surprise her. It is alleged that there he saw Preeti Jadaun in an objectionable position with constable Arafat Khan. There was a heated argument over this issue, which even escalated into a fight. The lawyer alleges that both of them together tortured him physically and mentally.
Questions raised on police system, on the contrary FIR lodged against lawyer
After the incident, Mrityunjay Singh Chauhan tried to lodge a complaint in the Civil Line police station and City Kotwali of Morena in the hope of justice, but he was not heard anywhere. It is alleged that due to the influence of female SI Preeti Jadaun, the police instead registered a case against the lawyer. Not only this, the lawyer informed the SP, ASP and CSP of Morena about the entire incident through social media from the mobile phone of the female SI, but despite this no action was taken.
Status became the last message, suicide note revealed secrets
On the intervening night of 14 and 15 December, lawyer Mrityunjay Singh Chauhan committed suicide by hanging himself in his house in Adarshpuram, Gola Ka Mandir police station area of Gwalior. Before committing suicide, he wrote in his social media status – “There is death in love, but not liberation”, on which SI Preeti Jadaun also commented ‘Bless’. An application written in the name of Civil Lines police station was found in the room, which is being considered as an undeclared suicide note. On the basis of this document, the police have now registered a case against the accused and taken the investigation forward.
