This new beast was named Eoneophron infernalis, with “eos” from the ancient Greek word for “dawn” to indicate the species’ antiquity, “Neophron” being the name of a genus of Egyptian vultures, and “infernalis” means “hell” in Latin.
Eoneophron infernalis is smaller in size than other beasts, weighing only 78 kg, and it lived before the asteroid disaster 66 million years ago.
The recreated image shows that it resembles an ancient bird even though it is actually a dinosaur.
