International Riders Set the Pace in Stage 20

The 20th stage of the Ho Chi Minh City Television Cycling Cup, a demanding 118km race from Vung Tau to Dong Nai, witnessed a display of strength and strategy from international cyclists. the stage highlighted the growing influence of foreign competitors in the Vietnamese cycling scene.

Early Breakaways and Tactical Maneuvering

From the start, a group of riders, including Samuel Jenner (Australia, Team 620 Chauto ibinlong), Loike Deriac (France, Domeko -dong Pharmacy), and Mihail Pokin (Russia, Roxtroy Saddle Group), launched aggressive attacks, separating themselves from the main peloton. Later, Saba Nobikov (Russia, Sumin Beansuong Plastics) broke away and joined the leading group, further solidifying the international presence at the front of the race.

A Coordinated Effort at the Front

The leading quartet, all highly ranked in the Yellow Jersey standings, demonstrated exceptional teamwork, rotating as leaders to maintain a blistering pace. This coordinated effort proved too much for the chasing pack,which included teams like Le Fruit maxxis Dong Nai,Pelio Kenda Dong Nai,TP.HCM Vinama, and TP.HCM New group. The gap between the leaders and the main group steadily widened, showcasing the superior strength and strategy of the leading foreign riders.

Jenner Secures Victory in Bien Hoa City

Despite challenges in the final 30km, where Samuel jenner and Mikhail Pokin fell slightly behind, the leading group managed to maintain a significant advantage. Samuel Jenner ultimately crossed the finish line first in Bien Hoa City,securing a significant victory for Club 620 Chauo Lee Bin Long. Loike Deriac also achieved a commendable third place, boosting his position in the green jersey (sprinting) rankings, overtaking Nguyen Tan Huai (Rock Troisan Group).

Overall Standings Remain Unchanged

Following the 20th stage, the overall leaders remain unchanged. Loc Troi an Giang Group continues to hold the yellow jersey,awarded to the racer with the shortest overall time. Le Fruit Maxxis Dong Nai successfully defended the Orange Jersey, recognizing the top-performing Vietnamese racer. Palm Leschian Rock (Military Area 7) retains the white Jersey, given to the leading young racer. Nick Kergo (620 Bin Long agriculture) maintains his hold on the Green Jersey (Sprint King),and Saba Nobikov (Sumin Beans Plastics) continues to wear the Red Dot Jersey (Mountain King).

Looking ahead to Stage 21

The competition continues tomorrow, April 26th, with athletes participating in the 21st stage of the Television Cycling Cup. The stage will cover 133km from Bien Hoa (Dong Nai) to My tho (Tien Giang), promising another day of intense racing and strategic maneuvering.
