Flu GP Limits Adjusted – Latest Updates

by Archynetys Health Desk

The limit value for increased activity of flu-like symptoms (influenza-like illness, ILI) in general practice has been set at 46 patients per 100,000 inhabitants for the 2025-2026 season. These limit values are re-established every year. Monitoring the number of people who visit their GP with flu-like complaints is one of the measuring instruments for the surveillance of infectious diseases. Nivel monitors the activity of IAZ in general practice in collaboration with the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) and the Erasmus Medical Center.

General practitioner surveillance is important for early detection of changes in infectious diseases, such as an increase in the number of people with flu-like complaints. This contributes to the national monitoring of infectious diseases and helps policymakers and healthcare institutions to take appropriate timely actions to protect public health
