The flu vaccination campaign began on October 14, 2025 in France. For the moment, the different departments are more or less affected by the disease. But this year, a particularity has impacted the Occitanie region and the Haute-Garonne.
Taking this phenomenon into account, as well as certain circumstances, Jérémie Sommé, head of department and doctor at the Toulouse municipal vaccination center, insists on the importance of vaccination.

Cases of flu before the vaccination campaign
On October 9, Public Health France published an epidemiological bulletin concerning acute respiratory infections in Occitanie. It indicates that the flu is circulating since the start of the month.

“This does not bode well for a calm season”
The reasons for the appearance of these cases are foreign to him.
“But during the winter season in the southern hemispherethere was a big epidemic of flu. So this portends a fairly significant epidemic for us in the northern hemisphere,” says the doctor, adding that “there are also strains which would be more or less sensitive to the vaccine. »
These two data added to “the appearance of patients before the start of the campaign, do not suggest a calm season. We strongly urges people to get vaccinated without waiting. »
Two centers where you can get vaccinated for free

To access it, simply make an appointment online for the flu, Covid or both. The same day, you must present yourself with an identity card, a Vitale card or a certificate of rights.
Once there, we are taken care of by one of the three nurses present. The center has the capacity to vaccinate up to 60 people per day. Or even more in the event of an epidemic.
