Coach’s Reflection: Areas for Improvement
Following the game, assistant coach Dušan Andrašovský expressed the need for meaningful improvements. it is hard to evaluate, we have to learn from it. We were not good in our game,
he stated. He highlighted issues with the team’s spacing and reliance on long passes, wich often failed to connect. Andrašovský acknowledged Finland’s superior performance and well-deserved victory.
We played very far apart, we were still trying to find a long pass by a player on the other side. When it succeeded, the puck could not work or the player was there. they played great and deserved to win.

Looking Ahead: Preparing for Canada
Andrašovský anticipates a similarly challenging game against Canada, emphasizing the need for improved puck control and offensive threat. It will be equally demanding on physical activity, fast, a lot of fights … We have to better control the puck, play our game and try to be hazardous even ahead. I still think we can do more than we showed,
he noted. The team aims to learn from their recent performance and deliver a stronger showing against the defending champions.
Final Thoughts: Regaining Momentum
despite the loss, Andrašovský stressed the importance of addressing the team’s energy levels and individual performances. The end was at least a bit of our liking. But the energy on the bench was missing. We have to look at it, take it out and approach it individually. It is in our power to play better. Before the domestic audience that deserves it,
he concluded, highlighting the team’s determination to improve and perform better for their fans.
