Is Final Destination: Bloodlines Coming Back to Disappoint?

The Final Destination franchise is known for its terrifyingly imaginative ways people meet their ends. After a 14-year hiatus, the series is making a comeback with Final Destination: Bloodlines, set to hit theaters on May 16, 2025. While fans are excited to see the inventive death sequences return, there are a few things to consider.

Classic Formula, Cliché Title:

The sixth installment is clearly banking on the formula that made Final Destination a cult classic. When death is cheated, a chain of absurd and gruesome events ensue as the Grim Reaper collects its due. However, the title – Final Destination: Bloodlines – feels a bit uninspired and leans into a trend we’ve seen with other horror sequels like Pet Sematary and Wrong Turn .

Missing Fan Favorites:

Final Destination has only two recurring characters: Clear Rivers (Ali Larter) and William Bludworth (Tony Todd). Sadly, Tony Todd recently passed away at the age of 69, making his return unlikely. It’s unclear if Ali Larter will reprise her role. The absence of these familiar faces might leave some fans feeling disconnected.

Can it Top the Last Installment?

Final Destination 5, released in 2011, is widely considered a strong entry in the series, known for its clever twists and memorable deaths. Critics and fans will inevitably compare the new film to its predecessor. Can Final Destination: Bloodlines deliver the same level of excitement and originality?

Stay Tuned for More Details: The release date is still a way off, so we’re left to speculate. Hopefully, more information will be released soon, giving us a better idea of what to expect from this long-awaited sequel.
