This Sunday, the current Minister of Finance recalled the “promise” of the former Prime Minister. Fernando Medina highlighted that, compared to 2015, another million people are working in Portugal in the country. And he left a barb to the PSD: “We don’t promise what we know we can’t fulfill”

The Minister of Finance, Fernando Medina, presented this Sunday the macroeconomic scenario framed in the Socialist Party’s electoral program, presented this Sunday in Lisbon.

The government official began by recalling that “in 2015, we presented a very clear speech: that there is an alternative to the austerity policy” and that “at the time, this vision was seen with so much disbelief that even Passos Coelho said he would vote for us”.

“The truth is that our program worked in creating jobs, with one million more Portuguese people working today than in 2015, and in the strong appreciation of wages and income. The coordinator of the PSD’s economic program said that the minimum wage should not be increased”, highlighted Fernando Medina.

The minister highlighted that “Portugal is one of the countries that has seen the greatest increase in foreign direct investment with the attraction of foreign companies with the capacity to pay good salaries, with the opportunities that this brings for Portuguese SMEs”.
