The carabinieri returned this morning to the house in Anguillara Sabazia, in the province of Rome, where she was killed Federica Torzullo to carry out unrepeatable checks on the black box of her husband’s car and on his cell phones. The checks have been temporarily suspended and will be carried out in the next few days. The man, Claudio Agostino Charlemagnewas arrested yesterday after the discovery of his wife’s body buried in a reed thicket behind his company
The interrogation of Claudio Carlomagno, accused of murder and concealment of a corpse, is underway in the Civitavecchia prison. The prosecutor in charge of the investigation and the prosecutor Alberto Liguori take part in the preliminary investigation. Listening to the investigators aims to obtain admissions from the suspect regarding the dynamics of what happened on January 8th, the motive and possibly information regarding the weapon used to kill the woman which has not yet been found.
The Civitavecchia Prosecutor’s Office not only accuses Claudio Carlomagno, husband of Federica Torzullo, of voluntary homicide aggravated by the emotional relationship, but also of concealing a corpse. The man has been in Civitavecchia prison since yesterday. The woman’s body was found by the police on Sunday morning inside a property near the headquarters of the suspect’s family business in the municipality of Anguillara. In the next few hours the prosecutors will assign the task for the autopsy as well as the request to validate the arrest. Investigators are still looking for the weapon and the results of the blood traces are expected next week.
Woman killed, one minute of noise at the Vian high school which Federica attended
This morning at the Vian Classical, Scientific and Human Sciences High School in Bracciano, on the proposal of the student community, a minute of noise was observed in memory of Federica Torzullo, citizen of Anguillara Sabazia and former student of this school. “The entire school community, in a moment of collective pain for the territory, chooses not to remain silent and to denounce, once again, the death of a woman at the hands of the patriarchy. For Federica, for all and for no one else” states the Bracciano Middle Students Network, the student union. “In memory of Federica and all the other women we are mobilizing. We want sexual and affective education in schools to combat gender violence”, conclude the students. In a long post, principal Lucia Lolli, the teachers and the entire educational community say they are “deeply shaken by what happened in Anguillara. Federica had been a student of this institute, in section C; we imagine her entering the classroom, walking around the corridors, climbing the stairs, going to the gym or science laboratory, laughing and joking with her classmates. We also learned that her teachers were Fecondo, Tomarchio, and Zati, among others. Beyond of what will be the results of the investigations, Federica is no longer here and will not be able to see her son become a teenager and then a man”.
The teachers recall the numerous initiatives implemented to raise student awareness on the issue of gender violence; “we have been participating for several years in the November 25th day dedicated to combating gender violence, with activities, flash mobs, conferences; but all this is not enough. We need to act even more effectively, we need a profound cultural change. We need to act not only at a legislative and regulatory level; to eradicate the phenomenon of femicide, continuous action to raise awareness and educate on healthy affectivity that has deep roots in respect for others is needed. We need a cultural revolution that welcomes the value of human life as negotiable. Yet another victim to mourn, a woman, a mother, and a child forced to live with a terrible absence and a tragedy that cannot have an explanation. Once again we find ourselves mourning a broken young life and feeling the full weight of educational failure. But in the void that envelops our time, we must reclaim the primary role that school has in the lives of many young people, confirming our daily commitment to eradicating a culture of death and oppression in our action of training and education in affectivity and not to remain silent”, conclude the head teacher and the teachers.
