Felicia’s Leaked Contribution: Explained

by Archynetys Entertainment Desk

On Saturday, Felicia competes in Melodifestivalen.

But even now her entire contribution can be listened to on X.

It is the second time in two weeks that a Mello song “leaks” prematurely – and SVT explains why.

“We know this,” writes project manager Anders Wistbacka.

Last Saturday, the Melodifestivalen kicked off with noise and noise, and already on Thursday, Mellofans got a sneak peek of 60 seconds of this year’s competition entry via SVT Play.

However, the full songs will only be released on Friday.

That was not the case last week. At least not for Jacqline whose competition entry “Woman” was leaked and published in its entirety on X already on Thursday last week.

Now it has happened again. On Thursday, Felicia’s contribution “My System” was also available in its entirety on the platform.

In a message to Expressen, Melodifestivalen’s project manager Anders Wistbacka explains how the “leaks” can occur.

“Some record companies choose to release the songs globally and then it is possible to listen at midnight in the respective time zone. We are aware of this and there is nothing that affects Felicia’s or any other entry’s participation in Melodifestivalen,” he writes.

In connection with Jacqline’s song “leaking” last week, Wistbacka stated that the record companies’ way of releasing music is “industry standard”.
