It was a 76-year-old man whose rental eviction had been decided for “rent debt”, according to a police source.
A septuagenarian committed suicide Tuesday in Fécamp during the intervention of a bailiff accompanied by police officers responsible for evicting him from his accommodation, Le Havre prosecutor Soizic Guillaume told AFP, confirming information from Paris-Normandie.
“While the deportation procedure was taking its course, the victim took a small weapon out of his pocket” and managed to “get seriously injured”despite a police officer’s attempt to disarm him, said the prosecutor.
