A second son of the main defendant, who had only been arrested later, was sentenced to two years in prison for possession of a prohibited weapon, a sentence converted into 480 hours of work in favor of the community.
The other two sons – who were also accused of committing the crime of qualified homicide and desecration of a corpse – were acquitted because the collective understood that their presence in the place where this crime was committed had not been proven.
It should be noted that, before the sentence was read, defense lawyer Sandra Reis questioned the group regarding the fact that the defendant with the lowest sentence had not been notified to appear in court, as well as understanding that “the deadline for the defense to comment on the order it rejected on the supplementary evidence”.
In the lawyer’s opinion, this substantial change in the facts had a deadline for submitting an appeal, which, in Sandra Reis’ opinion, the group of judges did not want to take into account, ending up handing down the sentence after more than an hour of exchanges. of applications in the courtroom.
