KOMPAS.com – Indian police uncovered a syndicate assembling and selling fake flagship cellphones that imitate Samsung Galaxy products.
In a raid carried out in the Beadon Pura area, Karol Bagh, New Delhi, police confiscated more than 500 counterfeit cellphones sold as Samsung flagship devices, especially the Galaxy S models as well as the Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip.
According to the official police statement, the perpetrators assembled the cellphone using spare parts and accessories imported from China. After being assembled, the device was affixed with a fake IMEI sticker that read “Made in Vietnam”.
Factory-made mode
This mode aims to make the cellphone look like an official product made by the Samsung factory.

Then, the fake cellphone was sold as the latest model Samsung Galaxy smartphone at a price of around 35,000–45,000 rupees or around IDR 6.5 million to IDR 8.4 million per unit. This price is much cheaper than the official price on the market, almost half.
The raid was carried out on December 14, 2025, after local police received information the day before about a shop suspected of buying used or stolen cellphones, then illegally reassembling premium Samsung devices using motherboard old and imported components from China.
During this operation, the police confiscated a total of 512 fake Samsung cellphones from the Galaxy S Ultra series line, as well as the Z Flip and Z Fold folding cellphone series. It is not clear which Galaxy S and Z Fold/Flip models are being imitated by this syndicate.
Apart from that, 124 units were also seized motherboard138 batteries, 459 fake IMEI labels, as well as various special equipment for assembling cellphones. Officers also found many cellphones that were only half-assembled, as well as cellphone boxes and supporting accessories.
Import from China
In this raid, the police arrested four suspects. From the results of the investigation, the police named a man named Hakim as the brains behind the syndicate.

Hakim is known to rent assembly locations and import various Samsung components, such as motherboardcameras, speakers, body frames, rear glass and fake IMEI stickers from China.
In carrying out his action, Hakim was assisted by three other people, namely Mehtab Ahmad Ansari, Ravi Ahuja, and Rahul. They assemble cellphones that resemble the Galaxy Ultra, Fold and Flip because of the high market demand for these models.
