WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The Wichita Police Department alerted the public about an incident involving fake parking tickets being placed on vehicles at Towne East mall.
“These citations are not legitimate. If you receive one, please disregard it and throw it away,” police advised.
The phony citations are easy to spot with several mistakes.
“There are words that are not used in the correct context on the citation,” Wichita police explained. On its Facebook page, the WPD included a photo of the fake citation, complete with a phony “Wichita Police” letterhead and the threat of a $50 find, plus “coast.”
