Shocking moment for Jude Bellingham: The Real Madrid midfielder was badly hit in the face during the 2-0 defeat against Celta Vigo and was bleeding heavily.
In the 58th minute, the Englishman was involved in a duel with Borja Iglesias. Iglesias put his body in and hit the former BVB star in the face with his elbow. The 22-year-old went down and Real were awarded a free kick. However, Iglesias was not warned.
Jude Bellingham’s face is bleeding
A few minutes later it was seen that Bellingham was bleeding from his temple. As a result, he had to leave the pitch before a corner kick and was treated on the sideline. After the bleeding stopped, he was allowed to return to the field.
Because the old jersey was stained with blood, Bellingham had to put on a new jersey. Because he did this on and not off the pitch, he was shown a yellow card by referee Alejandro Quintero González (62′).
Xabi Alonso’s team ultimately lost 0-2 (0-0). The Swede Williot Swedberg scored a brace for outsiders Vigo (53./90.+3) to their first away win at the Bernabéu since 2014, with the first goal scored by former Bayern professional Bryan Zaragoza.
Real Madrid loses its nerve
Real, on the other hand, lost their nerve in the second half.
First, Fran García saw a yellow card in almost exactly one minute, then a yellow-red card (65′) – for two fouls in an almost identical spot on the halfway line.
In stoppage time, Álvaro Carreras received a yellow card for complaining, made a derogatory gesture towards referee Alejandro Quintero Gonzáles and was therefore shown red (90th + 2).
The Real stars didn’t agree with this, there was another sending off against Endrick on the touchline as well as warnings against Rodrygo and Federico Valverde, who complained too much.
