We knew that Alpine’s 2026 car would look very different from the model shown at the presentation thanks to leaked images of its shakedown at Silverstone.
The images from Barcelona confirm this, and the look of the front wing is quite unique. Firstly, we can see a blade that controls airflow around the front wheels, and the outer section of the spoiler has been dramatically raised to facilitate this. Secondly, the endplate has a small lip on the inside for greater control and greater vortex generation capacity, an addition already seen in F1 before front wing restrictions were tightened in 2019. Also worth noting is Alpine’s front suspension, which includes pull-rod activated rockers and a pronounced inclination of the rear leg of the upper triangle, similar to that of the McLaren.
