Il Santa Lucia IRCCS of Rome if you prepare one new phase of development thanks to the approval of new accreditation of beds on the part of Lazio region. The overall number goes from 325 to 365 bedswith the introduction of two new hospital disciplines: the functional recovery and rehabilitation and the spinal centerwhich are added to the already existing department of neurorehabilitation.
The new structure includes:
115 beds of neurorehabilitation, more 16 day hospital;
158 beds for functional recovery and rehabilitation, with additional 16 day hospital;
20 beds for the spinal center;
40 ordinary beds dedicated to private activity, with the possibility of adding another 4 private day hospital places pending approval.
The transformation is the result of a patient planning work and integration with the needs of the regional hospital networkinvolving Extraordinary Commissioners and regional institutions. The goal is expand the healthcare offeringincreasing the number of patients who can use the services and preserving the vocation and mission of the Institute. The plans indicate a return to balanced budget by 2026.
To carry out the project, they were rethink two entire Complex Operational Unitswith the addition of beds and the renovation of gyms. The creation of a is also underway new pavilion dedicated to extensive rehabilitationa strategic department especially for pediatric therapieswhich will double by the first quarter of 2026.
The development plan also includes a review of extra-hospital servicesintroducing further innovations to ensure more complete and integrated care.
