Since starting his acting career in the 1980s, Kevin Spacey has had a long career that includes over 80 roles in film and television productions. He gained particular fame for his role as Francis “Frank” Underwood in the hit series “House of Cards” (2013-2017).
However, in October 2017, the actor was accused by his colleague Anthony Rapp of sexual harassment at a party in 1986. Spacey was 26 at the time and Rapp was 14. Since then, 30 other men have made allegations against Spacey, which the two-time Oscar winner denied.
In 2023, Kevin Spacey was acquitted of allegations in one of England’s largest #MeToo trials. However, the actor now reveals that he is still not rehabilitated after the allegations.
Kevin Spacey reveals: “I live in hotels”
In an interview with The Telegraph, the American Beauty actor explains, that he currently has no permanent address. His financial situation is also “not good”.
At the time of the sexual harassment allegations, Spacey was living in Baltimore. But he is said to have now lost the house in which he lived for twelve years. Instead, he lives in Airbnbs and hotels; he “literally has no home.” In the interview he explains his situation in more detail:
“The costs of the last seven years have been astronomical. I had hardly any income and everything went out the window. […] Strangely enough, I feel like I’ve been transported back to the beginning of my career: I just went wherever there was work. Everything is in storage and I hope that at some point, when the situation continues to improve, I will be able to decide where I want to settle again.”
This is how Kevin Space tries to get back on his feet
In order to become more financially independent and free again, Spacey is currently preparing to sing in a big band in a holiday resort in Cyprus. In this way he is trying to regain a foothold in show business.
Ticket prices for his “Songs & Stories” performance started from £220; The VIP package, including a 30-minute meet and greet, a bottle of champagne and a fruit platter, cost fans £1,000, according to The Sun.
In May of this year, Spacey appeared in the spotlight again after a long time, to receive an honorary award for his life’s work at a gala in Cannes.
Before this ceremony, it was claimed that the actor and director was not welcome at the film festival, according to Daily Mail.
