Synopsis

Toni Lomas achieved fame when she participated in a successful talent show. Now he has nowhere to drop dead. His situation changes when Malena, a love from the past, puts him in contact with Junior, the son of a rich businessman, so that he can steal a valuable painting from the family home. To carry out the coup, Toni will look for two allies: the Mari and the Gallego, forming a team in which each one pursues their own interests. ‘Every day a clever man is born‘ is an acidic and biting satire of the human condition and society of our days.

In the words of Arantxa Echevarría: “Making this film has not made me rich. In the end, if you work, you don’t have time to become a millionaire. But it has allowed me to immerse myself in the lives of the powerful and those who struggle to make ends meet. And yes, money brings happiness to a certain extent and if you think otherwise you are probably rich.

‘Every day a clever man is born’ is, for me, an analysis of human picaresque told between theft of paintings, sex, ostriches, drugs, humor and money… a lot of money.”

For Hugo Silva, who heads the cast, “‘Every day a smart guy is born’ is a satire, a story of people from the lowlife mixed with people of a very high social status, in which no character comes out morally very well. It is also an adventure film, very entertaining, in which the audience is going to have a lot of fun and have a great time.

My character, Toni Lomas, is a singer who participated in a talent show many years ago. He didn’t win it, but he became quite famous. The truth is that he is a guy with quite a bit of talent but with a very short-term mentality, and all of this has led him to live in a lumpen environment and not succeed as much as he would have liked. Still, he is a very childish and positive guy and always sees the good side of life.

Working with Arantxa has been a super nice experience. I have learned and enjoyed a lot. I think that together we have created a character that we found very funny, we have grown very fond of Toni Lomas. “It has been a fantastic experience.”
