Emmanuel Macron announced the “Sports Festival” shortly after the Paris Paralympic Games concluded. The festival,envisioned by the Head of State,begins Sunday,September 14. Inspired by the Music Festival, more than 5,000 events are scheduled throughout metropolitan adn ultramarine france from this Sunday untill september 21.“It is a question of playing a lever for national cohesion, innovation and pride with three objectives: too move all of France, to bring together around the values ​​of sport during a free event, and make you want to practice sport” explains the Elysée.

The Presidency of the Republic emphasizes the “Territoriality“ of this sport festival. Associations, clubs, communities, and companies will offer free and open events to everyone, including sports initiations, demonstrations, sports-health workshops (such as free screening, diabetes-obesity prevention, mental well-being), and discoveries of adapted disciplines. For the event, all state services are mobilized (prefectures, departmental management of sports) in connection with local authorities and 46 sports federations. Each department will host a “Time” on the model of the Parisian event.
