by Archynetys Entertainment Desk

Information and photos of wanted persons are published on the website of the Police and Border Protection Board. February 6 a post about 57-year-old M. Segeris appeared. He was previously known to the public as the instrumentalist of the band Väikeste Lõõtspillide Ühing. The man also achieved considerable success in motor sports.

“If you have information about the wanted man, please call 112 or email ppa@politsei.ee,” the department said in a statement.

According to the police, the man is evading criminal investigation for a crime committed against a person in 2022. Communications manager Leana Loide explained that the police had been trying to find M. Seger all this time, checking various residences and sending messages inviting him to appear at the investigative hearing.

“We have tried several times to contact this man, but to no avail,” she noted.

The case was reportedly filed for domestic violence.

Court records show Mr. Seger has been tried several times before. in 2013 he was found guilty of assault and fined €600 plus just over €500 in legal costs. The indictment says he punched the mother in the cheek and ear, causing her to fall and hit the edge of the stove. The case file states that she suffered three bruises on her right thigh during the incident. He then threatened to kill the mother, waving a tool at her face and saying “she’s going to die”. Even later, M. Seger threatened the company manager with the same tool.

in 2018 Seger was found guilty again, this time of threats, cultivation of cannabis and destruction of property. The court sentenced him to three years in prison, but he served only three months and was released on parole. Also on his file is an incident of destruction of property related to setting fire to the house he owned with his ex-wife. The building was completely burnt, and the damage amounted to about 84,000 euros.

Bright past

Many years ago Mr. Seger made a living from music. For a long time he played drums and guitar in the band Väikeste Lõõtspillide Ühing, later he collaborated with musician Tõn Timm and others. in 2004 M. Seger released a solo album “Sadness and Sun”. Music critic Berk Vaher noted at the time that while the composition “Heavencrashes in the Blue” sounded like “ghostly voodoo gospel”, the album was generally too light and the musician’s potential could have been realized more.

in 2020 in an interview, M. Seger, speaking about the cultural life of Kihnu Island, revealed that he teaches local children to play drums. The article also noted that he writes lyrics and performs both alone and with other musicians.

In his youth Mr. Seger was also famous in motor sports. In the 1980s, he won silver and bronze medals in two different classes at the Soviet Union Road Racing Championship. He became the champion of Estonia twice in ring races, and in 2001 won the Kalevi Suuršūt race in the Stocksport 600 class.
