The Estonian Rescue Service reports that an aerial bomb was found near the village of Auvere, near the border with Russia.
The aerial bomb was found on the morning of November 2, when a local resident, while walking in the forest, noticed a large metal object that resembled a bomb. The specialists who arrived confirmed that it was an aviation bomb, tv3.lt reports.
“Experts are already at the scene and are preparing to neutralize the explosive object. Residents of the nearby area may hear loud sounds or explosions,” the rescue service said in an official statement.
The find comes amid rising tensions in the region over Russian provocations and airspace incidents.
